No more leave until morale improves
It wasn't clear what people were voting for
"you will hold this country’s destiny in your hands. This is a huge decision
for our country, perhaps the biggest we will make in our lifetimes. And it will
be the final decision... An in or out referendum...if we vote to leave, then we
will leave." [1]
"Leave the European Union." [2]
...so we should have another vote...
"When the British people speak, their voice will be respected – not ignored...There will not be another renegotiation and another referendum...Think very carefully, because this choice cannot be undone." [1]
"A once in a generation decision" [3]
...but leave's spending unfairly influenced the electorate...
The government spent £9.3mn of tax payer's money (not contributions to the remain campaign) on a leaflet to every household in the country. [4]
The remain side spent more. £5mn more [5]. Or £14mn more once you include the leaflet. Over double what leave spent.
And remain still lost.
